Development and Programmes Manager
An exciting opportunity to design a development strategy, lead the promotion of the Trust and its activities and implement community and public programming.
Based at the iconic Pah Homestead, TSB Wallace Arts Centre, the Development and Programmes Manager will work with the Director and Staff of the James Wallace Arts Trust to deliver outstanding services, community and educational programmes, and events, supporting the Trust’s ongoing exhibitions and loans programmes. The role will have a focus on developing new partnerships with businesses and community groups and promoting the programmes and activities of the Trust through implement these in new and innovative ways.
The vision of the Wallace Arts Trust is to support and promote New Zealand contemporary artists while providing the wider public with an inimitable cultural and historical resource of contemporary New Zealand art.
The Arts Centre hosts a changing programme of exhibitions curated from the James Wallace Arts Trust Collection of over 9000 works of New Zealand art, as well as regional touring exhibitions. The succesful applicant will lead Arts Centre's community education programmes targeting schools and the wider public.
The successful candidate will be an engaging, effective communicator with a talent for sharing knowledge, have a passion for contemporary New Zealand art, and for building relationships with artists, visitors, community groups and business and other key stakeholders. Post-graduate qualifications in Fine Art or Art History are essential. Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
