2020 Dunedin Fringe Festival registrations open 12 August - 30 November

Dunedin Fringe Artist Grants: applications open 12 August - 6 September

Go to  www.dunedinfringe.nz for registration forms

Thanks to Creative New Zealand, the Dunedin Fringe Arts Trust has funding to distribute to New Zealand artists. The funding is to support the development and presentation of work to be part of the Dunedin Fringe Festival 2020 programme. If you meet the eligibility and assessment criteria, we encourage you to apply for a Fringe Artist Grant.

Two pools of funding are available this year. The process is concurrent and identical, although you will be asked to identify which pool you are applying for.

  1. General Pool ($20,000). Any artist, working in any art-form, who mets the criteria can apply to this
fund. Successful grants generally range from between $500 and $2000.

  2. Otago / Southland Professional Theatre pool ($15,000). This supplementary funding has been provided by
Creative NZ to support the community most affected by the closure of the Fortune Theatre and
therefore has more limited eligibility. There is no indicative funding band and the panel will consider
requests for funding of up to $15,000.

Funding Applications close Friday 6 September 2019.

Funding Application decisions announced Friday 20 September.

Successful applications are conditional on applicants completing Dunedin Fringe Registration prior to the registration deadline: 30 November. N.B early bird (discounted) registrations close Friday 27 September.
