Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Lighting oversees, and ultimately ensures the efficiency of, day-to day-operations of the Lighting department. You will deliver consistent and high quality services, working collaboratively with the Head of Audio and Head of AV to lead our team of technicians. You will have excellent communication and time management skills, be calm under pressure, and utilise your experience in the industry to problem solve.

The Role

  • Oversee operation of the lighting department
  • Create lighting and event designs
  • Lead large scale events
  • Coordinate workshop operations
  • Communicate with venues and venue management
  • Quoting
  • Equipment sales – Lighting
  • Client liaison

Key relationships

  • Reporting to the Managing Director
  • Working with the Head of Audio and Head of AV
  • Leading ACLX team members
  • Ensure a consistent, high quality delivery to ACLX's clients.

Skills, experience and personal characteristics

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with lighting in the event & entertainment industry
  • Full NZ Driver Licence
  • EWP unit standards
  • Working at Height unit standards

Core Competencies:

  • Experience using Lighting control and CAD software
  • Proven lighting design experience
  • Strong general computer skills
  • Familiarity with Rental Management Software
  • In-depth knowledge of event management, and production services
