The Performance Arcade​ is seeking an experienced producer and a production manager to join the team on our 2020 event. These exciting roles offer introduction to performance artists coming from all over the world, local practitioners who are leading the field here in NZ, and a large community of Wellington businesses, arts professionals, and leaders. Our event is visited by over 59,000 people every year, and has a high profile: providing fantastic opportunities for networking, skills development, and career-building. 

Part time (0.5) from 1 October - 21 December 2019
Full time (FT) from 6 January - 6 March 2020

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

  • Provide services as Associate Producer for The Performance Arcade 2020
  • Reporting to the artistic director and board of trustees on duties.
  • Respond to correspondence, emails, phone calls or requests in person and liaise with patrons, sponsors, clients, performers, suppliers, tradespeople, and other parties as required.
  • Strategic and creative development of the project: working with the leadership team in developing and realising the programming, creative vision, and infrastructure for the project.
  • Management of budgets, paying contractors, managing invoices and accounting documents.
  • Developing relationships with partner organisations and co-ordinating staff associated with these processes.
  • Co-ordinating and implementing campaigns and initiatives for fundraising, private giving and sponsorship for the project, seeking funding and support from individuals and businesses.
  • Assisting in running special events such as artist talks, development workshops, and the programme launch.
  • Hosting patrons, sponsors, and VIP guests at special events.
  • Brokering and maintaining relationships with patrons and sponsors for the event, providing sponsorship agreements, updating them on the progress of the project, and inviting them to events.
  • Writing grant applications and assisting in other fund-raising strategies.
  • Attending regular production meetings, reporting on duties, and participating in team decision making towards the presentation of The Performance Arcade 2020.
  • Maintain company records, file keeping and other reports when required.
  • Miscellaneous errands and general administrative duties as required from time to time.
  • Any other tasks that the business or the people that you report to may require from time to time.

PRODUCTION MANAGER

  • Provide services as Production Manager for The Performance Arcade 2020
  • (Nov-Jan) Working on pre-production for The Performance Arcade 2020 by booking contractors, completing licensing and resource consent applications, planning the event with staff, and securing in-kind support and partnerships with key suppliers. Assisting in other areas of the campaign where able.
  • Project management and co-ordination of the event and event staff, including: production schedules, problem solving, human resources, site use, contractors, logistics, consents, health and safety. Managing the pack-in /set-up process, and pack-out.
  • Supervising staff responsible for site management, technical management, and health and safety.
  • Helping to maintain accounts and manage production expenses in the budget in consultation with the director and producer.
  • Attending and assisting in the running of production meetings and artist workshops.
