Internships with The Performance Arcade 2020
The Performance Arcade is an acclaimed live art event that attracts 60-90,000 people every year to Wellington Waterfront since 2011. Audiences come for an exciting and diverse program of art, live music, and performance, installed within a special architectural arrangement of shipping containers that are stacked and arranged together to create an innovative new space for performance and arts presentation.
We are seeking a team of interns to assist with the production of our 2020 event. Succesful applicants must be able to think on their feet and able to work quickly and efficiently in our fast- paced festival environment. We are seeking interns across the following areas:
Stage Management / Must have some skill or experience in stage management either in event, festivals, theatre, performance and or live music co-ordination. Some knowledge of installing and mixing sound or installing LX equipment and operating a basic lighting rig, would be beneficial. (January-March)
Event Production and Artist Liaison / We would like someone who can commit to the role, has good attention to detail and can complete a wide range of production related tasks. You must have some skill or experience in production procedures and practices in event/festivals, performance and or live music co-ordination (October-March).
Education Programme / This involves assisting with the design and implementation of the festivals’ educational programme - a series of talks and workshops focused around the different art installations and ideas within. Some experience within the arts would be advantageous. We would like someone who can commit to the role, has good attention to detail (November-March).
Spatial Design / This design/build internship would suit someone who is happiest on site, bringing creations to life. We would like someone who is keen to learn more about the events, exhibition and design community in Wellington. Offering their skills in either theatre production design, temporary architecture, art installation, furniture design or spatial design (January-March).
Volunteer Coordinator / We would like someone who can commit to the role, has good attention to detail and can complete a wide range of business related tasks. You must have some experience in business procedures, and personnel management and be familiar with performing arts type event/festivals. Within this role, we need someone to oversee the work of volunteers and support Business and Audience Development. (January-March)
Event Marketing and Publicity / We would like someone who can commit to the role and offer insight and perspective to what we want to achieve. Skills in admin, marketing, social media, photography, and PR are essential (October-March).
Part time: from 5 – 20hrs per week depending on your schedule
