Massive Company consists of a small team of permanent staff:  the General Manager, Artistic Director, a part time producer and part time marketing person.

The wider company members are our contracted tutors who work with us through out the year to deliver our free emerging artists workshop programme, and our contracted creatives (producers, directors, designers) who work with us to present an annual emerging artists production.  All our contractors work with us on an ongoing basis, and are considered company members.  They play a significant part, not only as creatives, but in feeding into the company direction.

As the outgoing manager I highly recommend Massive as a creative, supportive, and truly enjoyable workplace, with a strong mātāpono of supporting all company members and our emerging artists.  The permanent staff work closely together and support each other in their roles.  Both the GM and the Artistic Director report to the board, and are supported in their roles by the trustees.

The General Manager's primary responsibilities are:

Funding and Financial Management

  • Responsible for funding applications and strategy
  • Refine and manage the annual budgets
  • Manage the day to day finances

People and Project Management 

  • Manage the producer, admin and marketing support roles, and have overall responsibility for the logistics and budgets of the workshop activities (alongside the Artisitic Director)
  • Manage the logistics and budgets for the productions (1-2 per annum), alongside the Producers

Programme Planning & Vision

  • Working with the board and the Artistic Director to develop and implement the current three year strategy
  • Refine and detail the planning for 2021-2022
  • Review and update the business plan annually

Ideal start time :  2 weeks in December for handover (prior to 20 December), Restart 20 January 2020

Hours :  40 per week.  Office closes for 4 weeks from the Friday before Christmas each year

Salary:  $70,000 per annum, plus 3% kiwisaver
