Weekend Gallery Arts Administrator

Role, purpose, availability:


The Corban Estate Arts Centre (CEAC) is open from 10am – 4:30pm 7days a week including most public holidays.  The Weekend Gallery
Supervisor and Arts Administrator is responsible for opening thegallery, the gallery shop and attending to CEAC reception on weekend days as well as some public holidays.


There is one role on offer, a Saturday position. The regularity of work is every weekend, and some public holidays.
There may also be the opportunity for occasional casual work at other times of the week.

 The applicant needs to commit to being available in this role for at least 12 months.
 The position's start date will be Sunday 5th January.


This position reports to the Director, although will be directly supervised by a permanent staff member.


  • Being responsible for opening and closing the gallery, gallery shop and reception
  • Serving gallery shop customers
  • Reception duties and responding to customer enquiries
  • Taking bookings for courses and events using database
  • General administrative duties as directed by the weekly staff

Salary Range:

$19 per hour

  • Office experience
  • Computer proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Experience using access databases an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn unfamiliar administrative processes.
  • Methodical and systems oriented with an attention to detail
  • Cash handling; some retail experience an advantage
  • Problem solving abilities uses initiative.
  • Interest in or involvement with arts environment an advantage.
  • Friendly and flexible.
