Creative New Zealand, the Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa, is the national arts development organisation. We support, develop, and advocate for the arts, for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

The Adviser role exists within the Policy & Performance team, which along with the Communications and Advocacy teams, make up the Strategy & Engagement Group of Creative New Zealand.

As Adviser, Policy & Performance you’ll support policy analysis, development and advice, organisational performance as well as monitoring and evaluation.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, social sciences, arts disciplines, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a relevant or related field
  • Familiarity with statistics and statistical analysis using Excel
  • Strong organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage own workload independently
  • An understanding and commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Computer literate and capable on standard Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to develop positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • An interest in the arts
