Massive Company consists of a small team of permanent staff and we're looking for a well-organised go-getter to join us as Programme Coordinator.

Now in its 29th year, Massive has delivered hundreds of free workshops and development opportunities to thousands of rangatahi, emerging and professional artists, schools and teachers across Aotearoa.  And we're not done yet!

The Massive Company Programme Coordinator will work closely with the General Manager and Artistic Director to assist with the implementation of logistical and operational aspects of Massive Company’s core business and delivery of the annual workshop programme.

Key areas of responsibility:

Workshop Programme Management, Marketing & Administration

  • Ensure the smooth running of the annual workshop programmes:  Foundation & Essential Workshops, Massvie Nui Ensemble Programme, The Directors Lab, Massive Making, Teachers Workshops, and any Massive-In-Residence or Intensive programmes alongside specialty one-off workshop programs (i.e. touring workshop programmes)
  • Develop, maintain and deliver a marketing plan, in conjunction with Artistic Director, to best ensure all workshops are well attended
  • Maintain a system of registration and manage communication with participants from the point of registration through to post attendance of a workshop
  • Liaise with key partners of the workshop programme:  Venue Managers and their staff and manage all bookings with venues
  • Assist with developing and maintaining a marketing plan for the workshop programme in consultation with the General Manager and the contracted Marketing Coordinator
  • Maintain support material for tutors and participants including workshop booklets, feedback booklets, Health & Safety material, Workshop rolls and workshop gear
  • Liaise with tutors to co-ordinate the practical running of each workshop, including ensuring their timely access to support material, venues and Health and Safety information
  • Develop and maintain a filing system:  Keep accurate records of all relevant Health and Safety documents and workshop information
  • Compile feedback information from workshops and maintain filing of these records
  • Liaise with Production Producer to assist with any marketing tasks (social media, etc) for annual Massive productions (if needed)

 

General Business

  • Maintain a central company calendar of events and activities, including all relevant venue and tutor details
  • Develop and maintain the Company contacts list
  • Maintain the general database of all contacts needed for Massive business
  • Maintain and improve filing of general company materials
  • Book venues for rehearsals of productions in advance of a producer being contracted for the production
  • Support the General Manager in administration of general business as needed, including compiling statistics as requested for reporting
  • Record and file minutes of Massive board meetings
  • Purchase and/or order office or other supplies as needed
  • Oversee and maintain storage facility when necessary
  • Other office duties as determined by the General Manager (within reason)

 

Desired skills and qualities:

  • Well-organized to develop, plan and work to a schedule to ensure all tasks are achieved in a timely manner
  • Ability to self-manage tasks and work efficiently
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • A love of the performing arts

Hours:  22.5 hours a week
