Opportunity open: for organisations to provide a new career service
Submissions to provide career support for creatives in a pilot over the next few years are welcomed from a broad range of organisations.
Are you an organisation that gives career advice for creatives, or one that would like to?
Manatū Taonga and the Ministry for Social Development (MSD) have partnered to design a new career service for creatives. The tender process is now open for applications from organisations to be part of a pilot in Auckland, Waikato and Nelson over the next few years.
We’re looking for a broad range of applications in these regions; including those that work for, and are from iwi, Māori and Pacific peoples, and all organisations with experience in the arts sector.
The aim of this new service is to support both creative jobseekers (whether receiving a benefit or not) and established creative sector workers affected by the impact of COVID-19. Individuals will be able to develop the non-creative skills and receive the training needed to work and thrive in the arts and creative sector.
It is envisaged the service would focus on skills in the areas of business management, contract negotiation, marketing, networking, applying for funding, and linking people to employment opportunities.
Submissions close at midday on 9 October 2020.
