We have a strong new strategic vision for the company, which has created an exciting opportunity for us to recruit a talented person to contribute to the future of opera in Aotearoa.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager we are looking for a Digital Marketing & Content Co-ordinator who is responsible for managing and implementing the marketing strategy, to enable New Zealand Opera to achieve its purpose, vision, values and goals, driving awareness and increasing audience engagement through our digital platforms. 

We are looking for a person who will work closely with the marketing team to:

  • Develop and implement a content management plan that aligns with the overall strategic direction of the Company.
  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns, including testing and optimising to improve ROI/cost effective reach alongside our digital media agency.
  • Manage our digital channels, including social media content development, scheduling and day to day management.
  • Create content for our e-notes newsletter and email communications across our audiences.  Optimise reach and engagement. Includes all formats of digital content such as video, static and copy development.
  • Customise marketing assets for our media channels ticketing partners and digital marketing, including identifying new and supporting existing content partnerships.
  • Reporting on customer behaviour and acquisition from Google Analytics, EDM and social.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in the following areas:

  • Relevant communications or marketing degree and/or experience and proven success of working as a digital marketer in the arts or entertainment industries
  • Experience of Wordfly/Mailchimp, Tessitura (or similar CRM database), Marketing automation systems.
  • High level of expertise in development of digital content, which may include Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, video editing.
  • A good appreciation and knowledge of opera and/or the performing arts and entertainment industry in New Zealand
