Visual and Performance Arts are inherent gifts from our tupuna (ancestors) and are the Māori way to document purākau (traditional stories) through various channels of art, keeping the stories alive for ngā rangatira mō apōpo (generations to come). If these are matters that you’re passionate about then we’d like to hear from you.
Toi is our dedicated space for teaching Māori and Indigenous Art. We deliver a range of Toi programmes in Visual Arts, Mau Rākau, Māori Performing Arts, Raranga and Whakairo from Level 3 to Level 7.
To become a Kaiako (Tutor) in Toi, you will need to hold a relevant qualification one level above the programme you are teaching.
