Night Lights at MOTAT

Night Lights @ MOTAT is an evening event that runs for three evenings from Friday 25th June- Sunday 27th June 2021 6-9 pm, coinciding with Matariki. The primary aim is to use the MOTAT collection creatively to inspire and engage audiences through principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths) and innovation. Last year we saw over 8000 visitors come through our doors and enjoy this wonderful event 

MOTAT have selected eight collection pieces related to light and illumination. We are looking for artists to create works in response to one or more of these items. These responses can be as far-fetched as you like – we are looking for innovative interpretations of what these objects may represent conceptually, socially and/or historically.

Each art work must contain a projection and /or light-based element.

Interactive/social engagement elements are encouraged but not compulsory. 

$2000 (Total budget to design and install art work, inclusive of materials: dependent on scope and subject to negotiation)

MOTAT can provide selected hardware e.g. projectors. (please make this clear in your proposal)
