He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Unlimited plays a critical role in driving Auckland’s economic wellbeing and supports the ability of the region to compete internationally. Our purpose is to support the growth of quality jobs for all Aucklanders.  We love what we do, and we love making a difference to Aucklanders as we contribute to making Auckland a world class city! We have a dedicated team to support Auckland’s thriving screen industry. Through Screen Auckland’s promotion of the city as a filming destination, we contribute to the sector’s growth and its continuing significant contribution to Auckland’s economy.

This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity to join the Screen Auckland team as a Film Facilitator. You’ll advocate, facilitate and coordinate all filming activity that uses Auckland Council property and impacts on Auckland’s public open space. You’ll help productions to understand requirements and put together permit applications to film in Auckland’s wonderful streets, parks, beaches and reserves.

This very busy and varied role has relationships at its core. You’ll build effective relationships with the Auckland Council family, industry and regulatory experts, and provide impeccable customer service for a broad range of customers.

He kōrero mōu: About you

You bring prior experience within a regulatory environment or have worked in the film or events industry. You’ve worked in roles where there’s been an emphasis on relationship management and you have built an understanding of the local government environment and you can interpret policy, regulation and legislation.

You’re a confident communicator, naturally proactive and demonstrate the ability to deliver under pressure. You’re systems savvy – comfortable utilising multiple systems through the course of your day. Resilience is key to your success in this role.

You must be prepared to handle anything that gets thrown your way and own the process from whoa to go.

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

If you love to work at pace, and enjoy prioritising a varied workload, then this is the opportunity for you. The Film Facilitation team is a close-knit team and we’ll support you with required training and a collaborative work environment. You’ll get a real sense of achievement as you support a sector that is delivering real benefit to Auckland’s economy.

Please tell us why you’re interested in this opportunity and apply via the link. For a confidential chat or further information, please get in touch with Marie Jenkins, Film Facilitator Manager or Rennie Sharma, Talent Acquisition Consultant.

Applications close Sunday 4th April 2021.

This position is deemed safety sensitive and will require pre-employment drug testing.

Auckland Council is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and we are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion.
