The cultural sector can now apply for funding to create installations and events all over the motu.
He whakaipurangi, he manga tārai riu, he awa whakakī whārua
A water source from which springs a stream carves a way and transforms into a river that fills valleys
Manatū Taonga’s Ngā Puninga Toi ā-Ahurea me ngā Kaupapa Cultural Installations and Events initiative has funding between $1,000 and $20,000 available.
Just as a river carves the land, this funding will transform the motu with art, culture and events.
We’re looking for applications from cultural sector practitioners, collectives or organisations in Aotearoa to create projects that bring culture and creativity to people in our communities.
They’ll be free to experience and need to be in easy to access spaces that people regularly go or are easy to discover, such as community hubs, shopping malls, parks, beaches, marae, churches, reserves, or along a waterfront.
Projects will be prioritised if they are led by Māori or Pacific cultural sector practitioners or organisations, support access and participation for people with disabilities, provide skill development opportunities and create employment in Aotearoa’s regions.
Let’s bring culture and creativity to people and enrich the landscape.
Applications are open until 5pm on 7 May 2021.
