The Court Theatre has a proud 50-year history of serving the Christchurch, regional and national community with excellent theatre and outreach programmes.  Its original home in the Arts Centre was destroyed in the earthquakes, then The Shed in Addington was found and developed into a spectacular and welcoming theatre space (with great parking).  The Shed was only ever to be a temporary home and now The Court has entered into a partnership with the Christchurch City Council to build a new home in the central city’s Performing Arts Precinct.

The Court’s current home, is a diverse and dynamic company of 60 permanent staff plus hundreds of artists and artisans who produce 19 productions each year, with over 150,000 ticket buyers entering The Court each year to feast on the varied offering of theatrical works, all created and produced on-site.

We need an experienced, driven and committed Capital Campaign Manager to drive major gifts for the development of our new theatre – a truly remarkable place designed by NZ Athfield Architects, and UK-based Theatre Architects Haworth Tompkins.

About the Role:

  • Deliver the specified KPIs needed for the Capital Campaign for the new Court Theatre in the City in partnership with and under the direction of the CE.
  • Drive and deliver this capital campaign to successfully raise the funds required.
  • Develop and drive cultivation strategies for Major Donors, managing prospect lists and research.
  • Ensure Major Donor guest events deliver great results in a cost effective way.
  • Deliver campaign communications strategy in alignment with Court Communications and Sponsorship Managers.

What you will need:

  • A track record of success as a highly experienced capital campaign fundraiser.
  • Knowledge and experience of not for profit organisations – the arts preferred.
  • Deadline driven with exceptional organisational skills.
  • Ability to network with diverse community members.
  • Interpersonal skills developed to a high level, to enable effectiveness with high net worth prospects and stakeholders.
  • Competency with CRM systems and apps, including project management, financial targets and customer information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills - collateral for the campaign.
  • Ability to manage diverse and complex relationships.

Benefits:

  • Contribute to an iconic non-profit organisation.
  • Join a team of high skilled people who are resilient and flexible learners.
  • An organisation with a promising looking future, and a new home in the city.
