Proposals for the Wharepuke/Dalton Trust Atist Residency 2021 are now open. 

Valued at $5,500.00, the 2021 residency is open for proposals from NZ & Australia* based artists to create a permanent work on site for the Wharepuke Sculpture Park in Kerikeri, Northland. 

Proposed works must be suitable for outdoor permanent display and can be 3D/2D, sculpture, installation, sound, video etc.

Artist Receives:

  • 4-week residency - between June 21st and September 30th, 2021 - artist and Wharepuke to negotiate exact dates
  • Artist’s fee $3,500.00 NZ
  • Accommodation (valued at $2000.00) – self-contained one bed cottage in 2 hectares of award-winning subtropical Garden of National Significance – partners/family welcome

Other opportunities such as artist talks and presentations and gallery exhibitions are also available as part of the residency.  Full details are on the web site and application form.

The Sculpture Park is set within Wharepuke Subtropical Garden of National Significance, 1km from the Kerikeri town centre and 5 min walk from the Stone Store, Kemp House and the Kororipo Pa.  Also on site are the Wharepuke Print Studio, Art at Wharepuke Gallery and Māha restaurant.
