Gallery Technician / Registrar

Page Galleries is a contemporary art dealership in the heart of Wellington Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Our gallery represents leading contemporary artists as well as maintaining a strong focus on the secondary market, with resales of significant historical works.

We have an exciting opportunity suited to someone with skills and experience in handling, installing, and caring for art.

We are seeking a gallery technician and registrar to assist with our monthly exhibitions as well as the management of our stockroom and incoming / outgoing artwork.

You will be part of a small, dynamic team focused on temporary exhibitions, and working with contemporary artists. The role requires collection management experience and responsibility for preparing documentation, coordinating freight arrangements, and installation and artwork handling. Communication, teamwork, and collegiality is essential, and the successful candidate will work as part of the team developing and maintaining systems for receiving, recording and handling of artworks.

This is a part-time permanent role for three days per week with availability to cover the occasional Saturday with prior arrangement.

Ideal starting date 8 June 2021 with some training / handover to be arranged beforehand.

Salary range $25-$32 per hour depending on experience.

Applications close Monday 17 May 2021.
