Hackman are one of the foremost producers of immersive / interactive experiences in New Zealand.

Our next project combines live performance, digital content and audience interaction. A development season will take place in September in Auckland followed by the premiere season in Wellington in December.

We are looking for a Sound Designer / Composer to provide a rich and evocative soundscape for the world within the show.

The project is set in the near future in a high technology environment so the soundscape will reference the busy world of computing and aerospace.

The successful candidate will have experience in theatrical sound design and composition. They must be able to deliver all the sound requirements (soundscape, effects and music) for the project.

A professional attitude with the ability to meet deadlines are essential.

Essential Criteria:

·      Previous experience sound designing and / or composing original scores for live theatre performance.

·      A team player who can collaborate effectively with the creative team to bring their vision of the project’s world to life.

·      Proficiency with QLab.

·      The ability to work under pressure, make required changes quickly and take direction constructively.

The work can be done independently up to a point, but the successful candidate will need to be ‘on call’ and available during the rehearsal period and production week in Auckland during August and September. More development will take place before the premiere season in Wellington.

Further details about the project will be provided before prospective candidates are invited to interview.
