The Marketing and Communications team at Auckland Arts Festival/ Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki (AAF) seeks the key role of Publicist/ Takawaenga Pāpāho. This role is responsible for creating all strategy and managing the implementation of all tactics related to public relations and media for AAF and its shows and events. The top line focus is establishing a comprehensive understanding of the programme in order to identify, pitch to, and secure media for online, print, radio, and TV placements. This includes both earned editorial as well as scoping advertorial opportunities.
AAF is a globally recognised celebration of art and culture taking place each March in Aotearoa/New Zealand’s largest city. Presented annually, the 18-day event celebrates people and culture, and showcases the cultural diversity and vibrant energy of Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland.
Additional responsibilities include some copywriting/editing, looking after online calendars/listings, engaging with the Festival CRM – datafest, delivering any related Sponsorship objectives, writing press releases/media alerts, and coordinating reveiwers and media ticketing, media calls, and photographers during AAF 2022.
This is a fixed-term position, commencing September 2021 until April 2022
