Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science and Heritage is one of New Zealand’s most exciting cultural institutions that prides itself in being a museum working beyond boundaries in the cultural heart of Palmerston North – an innovative and exciting city with small city benefits and big city ambitions! We pride ourselves on being a place that represents and celebrates diversity, courage, and curiosity – shaping a sustainable future while honouring the traditions of our past.

Te Manawa is responsible for inspiring exhibitions, innovative education and learning programmes, and exciting and inclusive events. We acquire, care for, and preserve taonga, the treasures that help tell our unique Manawatū stories. We are a place for the community and visitors to share in our region’s rich heritage.  We are alive with the colour, noise and activity associated with experiences that explore identity, creativity and ingenuity.

Te Manawa is seeking a Collections Manager with understanding and experience in visual arts collection management to joinour passionate team.

As Collections Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring Te Manawa’s art collection is cared for and safe wherever the artworks are. You will have a thorough understanding of collection management principles and be responsible for ensuring the knowledge about our art collections is accessible, along with enabling opportunities that connect people with our collections and visual arts in the Manawatū. Your attention to detail and accurate documentation will help ensure our art collection is both safe and accessible.

If you are genuinely excited about helping us to achieve our ambitious goals to partner and engage with the community, please apply.

For the right candidate, assistance with relocation expenses may be considered.
