Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science and Heritage is one of New Zealand’s most exciting cultural institutions that prides itself in being a museum working beyond boundaries in the cultural heart of Palmerston North – an innovative and exciting city with small city benefits and big city ambitions! We pride ourselves on being a place that represents and celebrates diversity, courage, and curiosity – shaping a sustainable future while honouring the traditions of our past.

Te Manawa is responsible for inspiring exhibitions, innovative education and learning programmes, and exciting and inclusive events. We acquire, care for, and preserve taonga, the treasures that help tell our unique Manawatū stories. We are a place for the community and visitors to share in our region’s rich heritage.  We are alive with the colour, noise and activity associated with experiences that explore identity, creativity and ingenuity.

Te Manawa is seeking a Programme Developer with experience in developing and communicating science and heritage-based themes.

As Programme Developer, you will be responsible for developing audience-focused programmes and inspiring exhibitions that open pathways to audience engagement and participation. You will have experience in organising, developing and communicating science and / or heritage-based programmes and exhibitions for diverse audiences in a team environment. Significantly contributing to the overall visitor experience at Te Manawa this is an exciting role that invites you to use your imagination and creativity.

If you are genuinely excited about helping us to achieve our ambitious goals to partner and engage with the community, please apply.

For the right candidate, assistance with relocation expenses may be considered.

Applications close: 11.00 pm, Sunday 19 September 2021
