The New Zealand Dance Advancement Trust is looking for new board members.
The New Zealand Dance Advancement Trust (NZDAT) seeks new members to join the New Zealand Dance Company (NZDC) board, a role that contributes to the sustenance and governance of the company.
The NZDC is a vibrant arts company funded by Creative New Zealand, Foundation North, Auckland Council and various trusts and foundations. The Company is committed to creating a sustainable, permanent, high-calibre dance company, with an Auckland home that contributes to the fabric of NZ culture and is dedicated to nurturing NZ’s finest contemporary dance practitioners.
The Company has established a very successful history in the time since it was founded by Shona McCullagh and Frances Turner in 2011. While a Company of only nine full-time artistic and managerial positions and several more regular artistic and technical collaborators, the nature of the environment in which we exist demands a level of sophistication and excellence in all that we do. This is as true off stage as it is on.
Have had governance experience, particularly for a not-for-profit organisation.
Have an interest in, or some knowledge of: the arts and or dance sector.
Have strong finance, legal or HR experience.
International exposure within the arts sector.
Has an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Existing relationships across the private sector.
Board meetings are 3-4 hours long on a bi monthly basis.
