BATS Theatre is Wellington’s iconic developmental performance space presenting an annual programme across three venues with a focus on innovative and dynamic performances.

 

We’re on the lookout for our next Front of House Superstar.  

 

The beating heart of our public spaces, this role has a strong people focus which assists us in our mission to create safe and welcoming spaces for audiences and artists to connect.

A stand out leader, our Front of House Manager wraps around our casual Front of House Assistants and Volunteer Usher teams with admin support, training and guidance.

A flair for spreadsheets will come in handy as well as an understanding of theatre operations.

The FOH Manager ensures our artists are well supported and informed about our FOH procedures and general vibe when joining us on onsite.

Our IDEAL CANDIDATE will have: 

  • A love of people

  • An interest in arts accessibility 

  • A strong sense of initiative

  • Problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication 

  • Knowledge of theatre production

  • An understanding of BATS kaupapa

  • A desire to see the NZ Arts Industry thrive 

 

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Staff management

  • Customer service 

  • Ticketing experience (PatronBase)

  • Cash handling and POS systems

  • Spreadsheets and budgeting

  • Health and Safety

 

A BONUS (but not essential) if you have any of the following:

  • Volunteer management skills

  • An understanding of Bar management

  • Duty Manager’s Licence

  • Familiarity with using Xero

  • Google Docs know-how

  • Non-profit management or community agency knowledge
