MOTAT is currently seeking a dynamic Project Leader. You will lead a team to develop and deliver a new Science and Technology centre at the heart of MOTAT’s vision to educate and inspire the innovators of tomorrow, confirming MOTAT as the go to place for science and technology in Aotearoa. This new destination will be a playful and accessible platform for exhibition and experiences that bring science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) to life, alongside heritage collections and innovations from New Zealand’s current leaders in these fields. 

The Project Leader - Science and Technology Centre is an amazing opportunity. The Project Leader’s drive, initiative and foresight will bring this project to fruition for future scientists and technologists to enjoy.

As a major capital project this role is critical in ensuring the fit-out aspect of the project is delivered on time, and within available resources. Using a range of project management tools and approaches, you will manage the exhibition development process and develop and maintain fit-out project budgets, schedules, contracts, and coordinate MOTAT Team Members and suppliers to deliver the objectives of the project. The role will work closely with the Building Project Manager to ensure an effective interface between base build and fit-out project.

To be successful in this role you will need at least five years of experience delivering creative, audience-focused experiences in an area related to science communication, education, or exhibition development. You will have proven business acumen and project management skills. Be a confident team leader who applies creative problem-solving skills to challenges and who thrives on motivating a multidisciplinary project team.

This is a fixed term position for 2 years.

It is a requirement of this position to hold a valid My Vaccine Pass.
