The Film Archive is seeking expressions of interest for a 2013 Curator-at-Large, based in Wellington, to explore its collections and create four gallery shows.

The focus for 2013 will be Social History and we invite a specialist (from any discipline), who is interested in working with and interpreting our moving image collections from a social history perspective to apply.

The Archive holds an extensive collection of more than 140,000 film and video titles dating from 1896 when cinema came here to last night’s news. The collection is predominantly of New Zealand material and includes almost every genre of film making, from home movies to feature films, newsreels to television commercials, documentaries to short films and more.

We invite a specialist (from any discipline), who is interested in working with and interpreting our moving image collections from a social history perspective to apply.
