The New Zealand Dance Advancement Trust seeks high quality applicants for a fixed-term employment position as NZDC’s General Manager for 2013.
NZDC is a vibrant new arts company funded at Kahikatea level by Creative New Zealand. Our vision is to create a sustainable, permanent, high-calibre dance company, with an Auckland home that contributes to the fabric of NZ culture and is dedicated to NZ’s finest contemporary dance practitioners.
Reporting to the Chief Executive/Artistic Director (Shona McCullagh) and working closely with the Financial Controller and the artistic team, you will lead the NZDC management/administrative team to develop and deliver NZDC’s 2013 projects and programmes, and in particular, secure sponsorships, partnerships, funding and philanthropy.
This role will contribute to the realisation of NZDC’s artistic vision, business and strategic plan to grow the artform, audience and infrastructure for contemporary dance in Aotearoa. In 2013, this includes two Auckland seasons of work, a North Island Tour plus associated activities, ranging from fundraising events, professional workshops to education/youth engagement initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to a new NZ arts company by further developing its foundations. You will have previous experience in arts management with a proven track record, demonstrated ability in producing in the arts and fundraising, strong financial skills with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed financial targets, a passion for business and organisational development, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent people and management skills, strong networks, strong administrative/organisational skills, and enjoy a collaborative, energetic and professional working environment. International experience will be an advantage.
