Title: Operations Manager
Reports to: CEO
Location: Wellington (CBD)
Duration: 6-months, Full-time (potentially ongoing)
Remuneration: $30,000 pro-rata
Start: Feb 2013
End: August 2013

ABOUT THE ROLE
Inspiring Stories Trust is looking to take on a dynamic operations manager to help us deliver a suite of national initiatives throughout 2013. Your role will be a pivotal position based from our Wellington office to support the implementation of core programmes, supporting staff & volunteers, and ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly. You will make a powerful contribution to the Trust by being an experienced project manager, able to juggle many activities with ease and calm, as well as helping to ensure that our many stakeholders & staff have what they need to make their own progress.

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Inspiring Stories is a charitable trust based in Wellington, operating nationwide. Now launching into year three, the Trust runs a suite of self-reinforcing youth-focused initiatives combining creative media, community engagement & social entrepreneurship. Our vision is to harness the power of storytelling for a better world. Our mission is to be a catalyst for action – combining multi-media storytelling & community engagement strategies to give people hope, get them excited about creating a future they want to live in, and give them the mandate to make it happen. Structurally, the Trust has a Board of Trustees, a range of partners & stakeholders, and a tiny team of staff & contractors who design & implement the Trust programmes. KEY RELATIONSHIPS

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage core programmes & projects
• Manage recruitment process
• Manage contract process with staff, venues and other stakeholders as appropriate
• Instigate and implement systems and processes
• Manage invoicing, accounts and payments processes
• Liaise with key stakeholders and partners as required
• Communications with key stakeholders as required
• Manage company and office administration

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and timelines • Excellent people and management skills
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail

• The ability to work closely and effectively within a small team
• A passion for our vision and for developing a vibrant organisation
• Public and/or Private sector experience
