Widely respected by NZ's leading performing arts tertiary training institutions, the National Youth Drama School (NYDS) offers world class instruction by industry professionals for 14-19 year-olds.

If you aspire to work in the creative industries and haven't heard of us yet, where have you been!!  Workshops include Film Production & Design; Film Editing; Physical Theatre; Acting for Stage & Screen; Directing; Technical Theatre; Comedy & Improvisation; Shakespeare; Screenwriting; Songwriting; Circus Skills; Dance and more.

NYDS tutors and former students are at the forefront of NZ's theatre and film scene.  Rachael Blampied (perhaps most recognisable as Bree on Shortland Street), Allan Henry (currently working on Ironman 3 as part of the motion capture team at Weta Workshop), Chris Ward (Sound Designer for Peter Jackson's The  Hobbit) just to name a few.

Students come from all over NZ and overseas to attend NYDS, which this year runs April 20-28, 2013 in Havelock North, Hawke's Bay. There are currently a few spots left, plus some scholarship funds still available.

Check out our website: www.nyds.co.nz and Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/nydsnz for information, registration forms and scholarships.  Applications are accepted up until April 15, 2013, but the scholarship application deadline is March 15, 2013.
