Vacancy Number - 3631
TVNZ is a celebration of New Zealand. Over the past year we’ve been proud to share experiences with New Zealanders in more diverse ways, across more media platforms, than ever before.
Every day, more than 2.4 million New Zealanders turn to TVNZ for their entertainment and news. They watch our channels TV ONE, TV2, U, Kidszone24 and TVNZ Heartland, not only on their televisions, but also over the internet and on their mobile phones, PS3s and iPads.
I AM TV is a cool, epic, Maori youth show! It’s on weekly for half an hour on Saturday at 10am from July until late December 2013. The reason this is a fixed term is due to a short production season, requiring pitching of the programme yearly to NZ on air for funding. The good news is that funding is all secured for 2013, so your first task will be to scout out a cool and energetic team of Presenters and Production crew passionate about Maori youth.
If you have a genuine interest and have your finger on the pulse with youth trends, issues, music and events and can bring innovative story-telling techniques to our ever-changing media landscape, then we want to hear from you. We want to continue to deliver a highly visual and engaging programme to our screens.
A fair and supportive role model, providing calm and confident leadership is what you’re known for. You can tackle problems fast, think on your feet and have great communication. You’ll know your way around a spread sheet, be resourceful and think outside the square. It goes without saying that you have a grasp of Maori youth culture combined with proven editorial skills.
Reporting into the GM of Maori & Pacific Programmes you’ll have the energy, mana and experience to lead and inspire your team.
Applications for this position close 7 March 2013. All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
Television New Zealand/Te Reo Tataki is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunities.
