Ngā mihi o te Hōtoke, e hoa ma,

Winter greetings!

During the summer months, Silo Park hosts a series of public activations in the newly-developed industrial space on Auckland city’s waterfront. Over the past three seasons, the activations have grown in size and popularity, and attracted over 200,000 visitors to free public market, dance, music and movies throughout the latest summer season.

Silo Markets, Social, Sessions and Cinema closed for regular events in April of this year, but will be open on Friday July 25th, Saturday July 26th and Sunday July 27th for a long-anticipated mid-winter weekend to celebrate the end of Matariki – the Māori New Year.

As well as markets over the weekend and a special live music performance on the Sunday afternoon, we would like to invite local artists to share their work as part of Matariki on the Waterfront 2014. On the evening of Friday 25th July, we envisage a Silo Park lit up by projection, light installation and video from 5:00pm to late - along with local DJs, the Silo Park container bar and street food vendors from around the city.
