The NZFC is looking for a highly organised, relationship-driven Festivals and Markets Executive to support the global success of Aotearoa New Zealand storytellers.
This is a hands-on role at the intersection of festivals, markets and international relationships - ideal for someone who understands the film ecosystem and thrives on delivering complex projects in dynamic, international environments.
The role
You’ll plan and deliver NZFC’s participation in selected international film festivals and markets each year.
You’ll help shape filmmakers’ festival submission strategies, manage logistics, support filmmakers and partners, and work closely with colleagues to ensure NZ films are presented compellingly on the world stage.
Key responsibilities
In this role you will:
· Plan and deliver NZFC participation at selected international film festivals and markets
· Manage plans, timelines and logistics
· Support filmmakers and market partners with festival and market participation
· Coordinate promotional collateral, screenings and events with festivals and partners
· Contribute to the delivery of NZFC’s Te Rautaki Māori and public-sector accountability
About you
You’ll bring film industry knowledge, strong project delivery skills, and the confidence to build relationships and manage multiple priorities.
You’ll ideally have:
· Marketing/sales/promotion experience (film, media or the arts preferred)
· Knowledge of international and domestic film festivals and markets
· Proven stakeholder management plus planning and logistics capability
· Strategic thinking around festival submissions and international market presence
· An inclusive working style and commitment to learning (including Te Ao Māori/tikanga Māori)
· Confidence working in a digital and data informed environment
