  • The Economic Development Office (EDO) is a core function within Auckland Council established following the integration of the economic development activities of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited into the council in 2025. The EDO provides system leadership for economic development across the council group and works to enable inclusive, innovative, and resilient economic growth across Tāmaki Makaurau. Its focus includes business attraction and support, industry and sector development, social and economic innovation, and economic transformation initiatives. By operating within the council, the Economic Development Office strengthens alignment between economic strategy, placebased development, community outcomes, and council investment decisions, ensuring economic growth supports both regional prosperity and local communities

  • He angitūtanga: The opportunity

  • We’re in the market for a passionate and values-driven Te Puna Creative Hub Manager to lead the successful operation of Te Puna Creative Hub, a flagship innovation space located within the Te Puna Creative Innovation Quarter in Te Kōpua, Henderson. This full-time, fixed-term role (until June 2027) is based onsite and requires someone who is deeply aligned with the established kaupapa and pou (values) that guide how we work, collaborate, and serve our community. Working in partnership with iwi, Te Kawerau-a-Maki, the role supports an ambitious vision for a world-class creative innovation precinct, balancing strong operational accountability with a genuine commitment to helping realise the aspirations of Te Puna — driving creative enterprise, job creation, upskilling and investment across west Auckland.

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of Te Puna Creative Hub, ensuring facilities, tenant support, and customer experiences align with the kaupapa and values of the hub. The role also oversees budgets, contracts, reporting, and health and safety, while fostering strong connections across tenants, partners, and the wider creative community. In addition, it supports marketing, communications, and business development initiatives, coordinates funded Māori economic innovation programmes, and contributes to strategic planning that advances the vision of the Te Puna Creative Innovation Quarter.

  • We’re looking for someone who brings a strong mix of operational know-how and relationship-building skills, with confidence managing venues, programmes, and budgets while keeping people at the centre of the work. This role suits someone who communicates clearly, adapts easily, and enjoys solving problems in a fast-moving environment. The ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders and build trusted partnerships is key, along with an understanding of te ao Māori and tikanga. Experience or interest in the creative industries or innovation ecosystem, and a genuine connection to or knowledge of west Auckland, will help you thrive and contribute meaningfully to the kaupapa of Te Puna.
